To address the overarching theme of sustainability within a Chinese and global context, the symposium is structured around three subthemes. These subthemes converge diverse perspectives across the following dimensions:

Note: Applicants of all nationalities and educational backgrounds are eligible.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must have been born after April 11, 1993.
- Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor's degree in any field at the time of application.
- Applicants must be able to commit to the entire duration of the symposium, from April 11 to 14, 2024.
- Applicants must be proficient in English.
- Applicants must not have previously attended any Yenching Global Symposiums or Yenching Social Innovation Forums.

Application Tips
- For your reference, please save your responses on a word document. Kindly note that drafts will not be saved. Submit the full application once all responses are completed.
- Each essay response should not exceed 300 words.
- Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.
- If English is not your native language or you have not graduated from an English-taught program, please provide a description of your English proficiency. Acceptable qualifications include IELTS 7, TOEFL 100, Cambridge 180, or CEFR C1. Screenshots are accepted.
- YGS is fully funded. The symposium organizers will cover your airfare, accommodation, and meals. Be aware of scams - you should not be asked for payment after submitting your application.
- Please be aware that YGS is unable to issue invitation letters containing barcodes for visa purposes. Consider this when applying for your tourist visa to China.
