The NATO Internship Program 2025 in Belgium presents a fully funded opportunity for students and recent graduates. Comprehensive details regarding the award coverage are outlined below:
- Internship Stipend: As a participant in the NATO-funded internship program, you will receive a monthly stipend of EUR 1,217 (2024). This amount is subject to annual adjustments based on inflation and NATO salary modifications.
- Travel: Following confirmation of your start date by the Internship Office, you will be provided with a prepaid economy-class flight or train ticket from your place of origin, with a maximum value of EUR 1,200. If you choose to travel to Brussels by car, the associated costs will be reimbursed.
- Leave: You are entitled to 15 days of paid leave during the six-month internship period.
- In-House Training: Throughout the internship, you will participate in an induction program and monthly briefings to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of NATO's operations and structure. These sessions offer unique opportunities to connect with experienced staff and officials across the Alliance, engaging in discussions on relevant topics with them and fellow interns. Visits to other organizations, such as the European Parliament, will also be organized.

Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the NATO Internship, you must meet the criteria established by NATO.
- Age: 21 or older
- A citizen of a NATO member country
- Have completed at least two years of university-level studies OR have obtained your highest degree less than a year ago OR are enrolled in a master’s or PhD program.
- Proficiency in either English or French. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
When is the Application Deadline?
Applications for the NATO Internship Program 2025 in Belgium are due by 20th May 2024. Final selections will be made in July or September.
