Since 2004, the International Energy Research Institute (IERI) has actively supported numerous international research endeavors. Committed to addressing global challenges, IERI continuously contributes to finding solutions for the impacts of climate change in developing countries. Recognizing IERI's dedication, the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) nominated the institute as an observer organization at COP 26 in 2021. This designation empowers IERI to accelerate progress toward the goals of the Paris Agreement and the ambitious 2030 emission reduction targets. Moving forward from 2022, IERI is intensifying its focus on climate mitigation technology approaches. Key areas of concentration include:
- Carbon reduction and renewable energy
- Climate change and sustainability
- Implementation of water treatment technology in the field
