The GEM Fellowship Program 2024 in the USA offers a fully funded opportunity for postgraduate students to pursue their studies at **leading universities across the United States**. The program covers the following expenses:
Employer Fellows
- $4,000 living allowance is provided per semester for up to four semesters ($8,000 per academic year – three quarters).
- A total stipend of at least $16,000 is awarded for the entire master's program.
- Up to two paid summer internships are offered with GEM Employer Members.
- Full tuition and fees are covered by a GEM University member.
- The GEM Member University will provide a financial agreement upon confirmation of the GEM Fellowship, aligned with this proposed distribution of the GEM Employer Partnership.
University Fellows
- Tuition and fees fully covered by GEM Member University
Associate Fellows
- GEM Member Universities provide full tuition and fees coverage.
- A minimum scholarship of $8,000 is awarded annually by a GEM member university.
Employer Fellows
- A stipend of $16,000 is provided for one academic year.
- Additional scholarships, such as Assistant Scholarships, Grants, and Other Scholarship Dollars, are available to ensure that scholarship funding from the GEM Member University matches the level of support received by other funded PhD students in the field.
- At least one paid summer internship is guaranteed with a GEM employer member.
- Full tuition and fees are covered for the fifth year of the PhD program.
Associate Fellows
- Your studies at a GEM Member University are fully funded, covering tuition and fees.
- The GEM Member University provides a minimum scholarship of $16,000 annually.
Eligibility Criteria for GEM Fellowship Program:
Underrepresentation:
Participation is sought from individuals belonging to groups underrepresented in science and engineering, as identified by the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics.
- American Indian or Alaska Native
- African American or Black
- Hispanic or Latino
Citizenship:
- To be eligible to apply, candidates must be U.S. citizens or U.S. permanent residents at the time of application.
GRE:
- To be considered for GEM Member University programs, applicants are strongly encouraged to take the GRE. When available, applicants will be asked to provide their test dates and/or GRE scores.
- Applicants must be seniors or graduates of an accredited engineering or computer science program at the time of application.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8/4.0.
- Applicants must contractually agree to intern for two summers with a sponsoring GEM Employer, beginning the summer after sponsorship.
- Applicants must be a senior, masters student, or graduate of an accredited engineering or applied science program at the time of application.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0/4.0.
- Applicants must contractually agree to intern with a GEM Employer member the Summer immediately after sponsorship.
