Eligibility Requirements for the Fulbright Degree Program in the United States:
- To be eligible for the Masters Degree program, applicants must hold a four-year Bachelor’s degree or a combination of a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, totaling **16 years of formal education** from an accredited university.
- **Recent graduates** are strongly encouraged to apply, with the exception of MBA and Public Policy/Administration applicants, who require 2 years of work experience.
- For the PhD degree program, applicants must possess a **Master’s, M.Phil or comparable degree** (a minimum of 18 years of formal education) from an accredited university.
- Candidates with **work experience** in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan are highly desirable.
- All academic disciplines are eligible for both the Masters and PhD programs, except clinical medicine.
- The Graduate Record Examination (**GRE**) is mandatory for all applicants. Under the new scoring system, a minimum score of 138 in the verbal and 136 in the quantitative sections is required.
- Applicants must demonstrate a high level of fluency in spoken and written English. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) will be required from all selected candidates.
Important: Applicants are required to have taken the GRE test before the application deadline. While TOEFL is not mandatory for application, it may be required for selected candidates.

Am I eligible to apply for an MBA program?

Do I qualify if I have an MBBS degree?
While you can pursue research-focused fields like Public Health, direct application for clinical medicine or specialization is not possible.

If you meet all other program requirements, you are eligible to apply. Participation in the Global UGrad Program will not impact your application negatively.

The answer is no, unless you are applying for Public Policy/Administration or an MBA.

While a second degree is possible, you'll need to present a compelling case for its necessity. Applicants who have not yet completed a degree abroad are given priority.
I hold a Master's degree from a university outside the United States. Will this impact my eligibility?
Applicants for the Master's program are prioritized if they have not previously earned a degree outside of their home country. Holding a foreign Master's degree does not affect eligibility for the PhD program. However, applicants with a degree earned in the U.S. within the past five years are ineligible for the Master's program.

Is the TOEFL test also required when submitting the application?

Applicants who study or teach at a public university and achieve an overall score of 290 in humanities and social science subjects, or a combined score of 300 in engineering and science subjects, are eligible for GRE cost reimbursement. To request reimbursement, attach a request to your application. A maximum of 30 reimbursement requests will be honored on a first-come, first-served basis. To increase your chances of receiving reimbursement, we recommend submitting your application early.
