Financial Benefits:
The **University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarships** offer opportunities for both Domestic and International students to pursue their studies in Australia without tuition fees. A total of 600 scholarships will be awarded.
- Full tuition fees are covered for up to two years for students pursuing a Masters by Research degree, or up to four years for students pursuing a doctoral degree.
- A living allowance of $34,400 per year is provided, pro-rata (based on the 2023 full-time study rate), for up to two years for Masters by Research students, or up to 3.5 years for doctoral students. The living allowance may be adjusted annually and includes limited paid sick, maternity, and parenting leave.
- A relocation grant is offered: $2000 for students moving from states or territories outside of Victoria, and $3000 for students moving from outside of Australia.
- Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) Single Membership is provided for international students who require a student visa to study in Australia.

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for the 600 Graduate Research Scholarships, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- You must have applied for and meet the entry requirements for a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne, **or** be currently enrolled in a graduate research degree at the University of Melbourne.
- All international and national students are eligible.
Application Deadline:
The deadline to apply for the **600 Graduate Research Scholarships** for Masters/MPhil Doctoral (Ph.D.) at the University of Melbourne is **31st October 2023**.
Applying for Scholarships at Melbourne University
As a new student who has applied for a Graduate Research course by the application deadline, you will automatically be considered for the 600 Graduate Research Scholarships. Within seven days of submitting your course application, you will receive a notification that a scholarship application has been added to your record. If you have accepted a graduate research course offer and deferred commencement to be reconsidered for a scholarship, you must submit an online application form by 31 October to be considered for a scholarship in the following year. You will receive a notification that a scholarship application has been added to your record within seven days of submitting the online form.
To be considered for a graduate research scholarship next year, you must submit an online application form by 31 October if you are currently enrolled in a graduate research course seeking scholarship funding. You will receive a notification within seven days of submitting the online form confirming that your scholarship application has been added to your record.
